DES PENMAN RESERVE

Public BBQ

Des Penman Reserve sprawls across Nollamara with the kind of generous proportions that make Western Australian parks enviable. The centrepiece oval, ringed by a well-maintained circular path, attracts a steady parade of walkers, joggers, and dog owners throughout the day. The amenities here don't hold back: barbecues, playground equipment, basketball and volleyball courts, outdoor fitness stations, and cricket facilities all claim their territory around the perimeter. The Shire's maintenance efforts are evident in the clean grounds and abundant tree coverage that provides welcome shade. Families colonise the playground at one end while fitness enthusiasts work the exercise equipment, and the massive open centre accommodates everything from organised sports to casual games. Covered seating dotted around the oval offers respite, and parking proves plentiful. The City of Stirling's recent upkeep efforts have clearly paid dividends, transforming this into one of those reliably pleasant neighbourhood parks where the only real challenge is deciding between relaxation and activity.
